About this event
The Champ Foundation, in collaboration with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), is hosting a two-day Scientific and Family Conference highlighting research for single large-scale mtDNA deletion syndromes (SLSMDS) such as Pearson syndrome, Kearns-Sayre syndrome, chronic progressive external ophthalmoplegia (CPEO), and sometimes Leigh syndrome.
Researchers, patients, families and friends are encouraged to join us:
- Friday, July 8, for a kick-off event at the Philadelphia Zoo, including a meet-and-greet with researchers from CHOP and dinner.
- Saturday, July 9, for the scientific portion of our conference held at CHOP’s Abramson Research Center.
Both days of this event will adhere to all CHOP and Philadelphia COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines. Registration is free and includes all syllabus materials. While both days of this event will be held in person, the scientific portion of the conference (day 2) will also be available to attend virtually. A meeting link will be sent out after registration.
